LUDINGTON — Water Safety Day will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the west end of Ludington Avenue in Stearns Park.

The event features displays from various emergency services departments and human services agencies that work with water safety.

According to Ludington Police Officer Tony Kuster, the event is a great opportunity for children to learn about being safe in and near water. “Children will be provided with a check list. If they complete it, by visiting all the booths, they get a free hot dog lunch,” Kuster said. “Everyone leaves with a prize.”

The event will feature Ludington Police Department, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Coast Guard, Life EMS, Ludington Fire Department and many others.
