Drugged driving, $3,300 credit card fraud among police activity

PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — A 41-year-old Scottville man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for operating under the influence of drugs and possession of Xanax Wednesday, May 13, at 8:54 a.m., following reports of a reckless driver. The suspect was located driving erratically and stopped on US-10, west of Meyers Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

In a separate incident, the sheriff’s office responded to a credit card fraud complaint in the 9000 block of US-10 in Branch Township Wednesday at 11:45 a.m., in which the victim “reportedly had someone take out a Merrick bank card in his name and charge over $3,300 in charges,” Cole stated.
