Library events to celebrate cherry blossoms, Earth Day and observe Money Smart Week.

The following are upcoming events that will be held at the Mason County District Library:

Money Smart Week. The Ludington branch is hosting several events during Money Smart Week, April 18-25, 2015.  At Preschool Story Time, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 21, 22, and 23, at 10 a.m., “The Berenstain Bears Dollars and Sense” will be read.  On Friday, April 24, at 4 p.m., children of all ages are invited to Rollin’ in the Dough Games Day to hear “The Berenstain Bears Dollars and Sense,” and to play board games involving play money with staff members from West Shore Bank.  Each child will receive a free copy of “The Berenstain Bears Dollars and Sense,” the book read during the program.  There are more than 3,500 free financial programs during Money Smart Week,April 18-25, 2015.  To find other programs in your area, visit www.moneysmartweek.org.

A Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 4 p..m. at the Scottville branch.  Participants will celebrate the Japanese tradition ofhanami, a party in celebration of cherry blossoms (sakura). Stories, crafts, fun and games will be held.

Earth Day. Children of all ages are invited to the Ludington branch to celebrate Earth Day. On Wednesday, April 22, 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 25, 9:30 a.m.2:30 p.m. in kids can create Earth art.

All Mason County District Library programs are free.  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
