Louis Jansen

Louis B. Jansen, aged 59 of Scottville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home.  Louis was born on January 11, 1955 at the Paulina Stearns Hospital in Ludington, the son of Alfonse and Martha (Edel) Jansen, and graduated from Mason County Central High School with the class of 1973.  He furthered his education at Muskegon Community College earning an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Design in 1975.  Louis worked alongside his parents and brothers on their farm in Eden Township, but he also worked at White Pine Village, with his friend Gary Gould at Ludington Carpet Cleaning, and most recently in maintenance for Barothy Lodge.  He loved working on the family farm and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following NASCAR.  Louis was preceded in death by his father Alfonse.

He will be greatly missed by his mother Martha Jansen, his brothers Charles and Carl Jansen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may meet with his family for a time of visitation on Saturday afternoon, January 10 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville.  A graveside service will be held for Louis at Lakeside Cemetery in Eden Township in the spring with a time of remembrance to follow at Eden Township Hall.
