Nothing found after reports of shots fired in Branch

BRANCH TWP. — Law enforcement responded to a report of shots being fired in the 8900 block of East U.S. 10 at 4:13 p.m., but nothing was found. Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded along with troopers from Michigan State Police.

Other activity of Mason County Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, July 22, 2014, included:

– 1:51 a.m.: Suspicious situation, 200 block of North Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Twp.

– 12:41 p.m.: A 66-year-old Free Soil resident was cited for driving while licence suspended following a traffic stop at Stephens and Hasenbank roads, Free Soil Township.

– 3 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Meyers Rd. and First St., P.M. Twp.

– 7:17 p.m.: Phone scam, 2500 block of Groth Rd., Victory Twp. Caller told the complainant he had been approved for a car loan and attempted to get personal information about the complainant.

– 7:46 p.m.: Alarm activation, 2300 block of Sherman Rd., Hamlin Twp.
