July 17, 2014

LUDINGTON — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that several citizens have recently complained about a scam. They have been receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be with the IRS and then demanding payment of back taxes via credit cards.

“The sheriff’s office wants to remind citizens to never provide credit card or personal information over the phone to anyone,” Sheriff Kim Cole said.
