VICTORY TWP. — Are you going to Havenshire Faire? Wayne Burgess and his daughter, Lisa Cooper, sure hope so. The two are planning the folk fair on Cooper’s 50-acres of land near the Lincoln River for Saturday, Oct. 4.

Havenshire Faire is a fall celebration offering homegrown, handmade, vintage and folk goods, art, and entertainment with a Celtic flair.

“Lisa and I have Celtic blood and that’s why we want to do this,” Wayne said. “We are mostly Cornish and Scottish. This is something we’ve talked about doing for quite a long time.”

Lisa said that she and her husband, Paul, moved to the property near the corner of Victory Drive and Amber Road about a year ago. “The property is the perfect location,” she said. “It starts with a long, tree covered driveway which leads to an open field.”

Plans are still underway for the faire. Lisa said they are still looking for sponsors and vendors.

“Basically we are looking for vendors who have items to sell that are consistent with a folk faire,” Lisa said. They are also looking for entertainers.

“This isn’t about making money but rather creating a fun, family event that is unique to this area,” Wayne said. “Our goal is to break even.”

Anyone who is interested in more information should check out the faire’s website, www.havenshirefaire.com.
