SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Clown Band is known for its zany antics mixed with a variety of wind-instrument quality music. But, tonight, the band takes on a different tone at the Scottville Clown Band Shell, located next to the Scottville Optimist Center. The annual Patriotic Concert is the band’s first hometown concert of the year and is the perfect kickoff of the Fourth of July season.

“We take on a different tone at this concert, but it’s always a crowd favorite,” said Clown Band President Jim Lindenau. “Normally we play a variety of music and mix it with some skits. But tonight we celebrate our country.”

Prior to the concert, Hospice of Mason County is holding its annual family fun day, beginning at 4 p.m. on the Charles Thompson Memorial Green, which is the park the shell is located in. The fun day lasts up until the 7 p.m. concert time.

Brats and hot dogs will also be sold along with popcorn and beverages from the Optimist popcorn wagon. Concert goers should bring chairs or blankets.
