Boat Club will hold Family Fun Fish Fest

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Boat Club will be holding a Family Fun Fish Fest on Saturday, June 7 from 7 to 11 a.m. on Pere Marquette Lake. It will also hold its third annual Blessing of the Boats at noon that day.

The event will include Bass Pro fisherman Chris Kohnke who will provide a special casting clinic for kids. Prizes will be awarded for largest fish of each species. There will also be pictures with the catch of the day. The events takes place during the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ free fishing weekend so no fishing license is required.

There will be prizes, t-shirts, raffles, music and food.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Ludington Boat Club. There is a $10 per person registration fee.

The Blessing of the Boats will take place at noon with the Rev. Wayne Wheeler officiating. Following the blessing, there will be a boat club fund raiser from 1 to 6 p.m. That event will include lake perch, brats and hot dog baskets. The band Bad Manners will begin at 1:30 p.m. Cover charge is $5 per person, open to the public.
