Shakespeare comedy will end art center Main Street Stage Series

April 5, 2014
LUDINGTON – Ludington Area Center for the Arts will end its first Main Stage Series on April 12 with a performance of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  The fully staged production will be brought to life by Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company. Based in Grand Haven, PCSC explores the original theatrical practices of the acting companies of Shakespeare’s time and provides high quality productions of works by Shakespeare and his contemporaries
LACA audiences may remember Pigeon Creek from its well-received November performance of Shakespeare Scenes.  “They were so much fun bringing us selected scenes from the Bard’s comedies,” said Ann Genson, LACA manager.  “We can’t wait to see what they do with what is, arguably, Shakespeare’s best comedy!”
A Midsummer NIght’s Dream is a raucous comedy that portrays the events of one evening in the woods and four hapless young lovers. These lovers and a band of amateur actors get more than they bargained for on their adventure.  When these human characters encounter a group of mischievous fairies and feel the effects of fairy magic, hilarity ensues.
The cast of this production features Steven Anderson, Kathleen Bode, Antonio Copeland, Kimi Griggs, Amanda Heeren, Janelle Mahlmann, Chad Marriott, Kristin Ripley, Janna Rosenkranz, Sarah Stark, Brad Sytsma, Kate Tubbs, and Kyle Westmaas.
