Believe it or not, a winter weather advisory has been issued for our area. The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued an advisory from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. Freezing rain is expected to develop during the early morning hours Thursday. One-tenth to a 1/4 inch of freezing rain is forecasted.

Freezing rain may cause hazardous travel conditions and isolated power outages.

The NWS has also issued a flood advisory for the Pere Marquette River at Riverside Park in Scottville until Sunday evening. At 10 a.m. today, the stage was 4.4 feet with a bank full stage at 4 feet. The flood stage is 5.5 feet. The river is expected to rise to near 4.6 feet by midnight.

As for the rest of today, expect plenty of sunshine with temperatures nearly steady in the mid to upper 30s. Winds, north-northwest at 5 to 10 mph. There is a 10% chance of precipitation.
