Scottville water run order to continue

SCOTTVILLE —Residents in Scottville should keep their running water until further notice. Last week the city issues a “Let Water Run” requesting that all residents keep their water running constantly. City Manager Amy Williams said it is likely the order will stand throughout the month.

“The freeze line keeps getting deeper and it is nearing our water mains,” Williams said. “We just had a water main on East Third Street freeze.”

A stream of water that is slightly larger than the size of a pencil lead is all that is needed, Williams said.  “If you do not let your water run, your pipes may freeze along with the city water mains.”

A credit for the extra usage will appear on the April water bill.
