In March, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital will offer free health screenings and educational health seminars as part of their popular Win With Wellness program.  The WWW program is in its third year and has prompted many local citizens to take a closer look at their physical health by measuring the key health indicators that are closely tied to chronic disease such as body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.  The free health screenings will be offered on March 4 from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Family Medicine in Hart; on March 6 from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM at District Health Department #10 in Baldwin; and on March 14 and 15 from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.  The screenings are free and open to the public.  Pre-registration is required.  To register, call 231.845.2222 or log on to www.spectrumhealth.org/WinWithWellness.

March’s Win With Wellness activities also include educational seminars on Tuesday, March 11 at Hart Middle School media center, Thursday March 13 at Baldwin High School cafeteria, and Thursday March 20 at Ludington High School cafeteria.  All three seminars are at 6:00 PM.  The topic for the month is mental health, a new topic for the campaign.   The Thursday, March 20 seminar will feature Licensed Professional Counselor Josh Snyder of West Michigan Community Mental Health as keynote speaker.  Chris Eldredge, Limited License Psychologist, also of WMCMH, will provide the keynote presentation for the Tuesday, March 11 seminar.  The presentations will cover ways to foster one’s good mental health, signs and symptoms of mental health problems, and how to seek help.
