win_with_wellnessThe Win with Wellness program, offered through Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, is offering free health screenings in Mason, Oceana and Lake Counties.

Hospital staff will conduct the screenings to measure the key health indicators that are closely tied to chronic disease such as body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

“Over the past year, Win with Wellness participants have seen significant improvements in their overall health,” said Alan Neushwander, marketing coordinator at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.  “Data shows that body mass index among Win with Wellness participants has decreased by 7.8 percent, falling out of the clinically obese range.  Cholesterol has declined 4.4 percent, triglycerides are down 10.5 percent, LDL (bad cholesterol) has fallen by six percent and HDL (good cholesterol) has improved by two percent.”

Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital provided over 500 free health screenings in 2013 through its Win with Wellness program.
