Jordan Lake, the 16-year-old Branch Township teen injured in a Friday morning fatal crash, is recovering from surgery. She was injured Friday morning when the Chevy Blazer she was driving apparently hit black ice on East U.S. 10 near Maple Road in Branch Township. Her 11-year-old brother, Garrett, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their 13-year-old sister, McKenna, was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital where she was treated and released. Jordan was flown by Aeromed helicopter ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Nearly 24 hours after the crash, she went into surgery Saturday morning. Her mother, Jennifer Lake, reported on Facebook that doctors placed two rods and screws in her thoracic spine. There were no complications from that surgery.

“Thank you all for the many prayers and love you have all shown,” she said.
