Memorial Day is a day to honor those who sacrificed their lives to protect our nation and our allies. Several services take place Monday in observation of Memorial Day.
Ludington: Ceremony begins at 9:45 a.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial at the Mason County Courthouse. Parade begins near the courthouse between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m., heads west on Ludington Avenue and ends at the Armed Forces memorial at Stearns Park. Services begin there at 11 a.m. Rain location: L.F. Peterson Auditorium at Ludington High School.
Scottville, Custer, Free Soil: Custer VFW will hold a 9 a.m. ceremony at Mason County Central High School. Members of the VFW will then lay a wreath in the Pere Marquette River at Riverside Park and then will hold services at Custer Riverside Cemetery and Free Soil Cemetery.
Pentwater: Ceremony at Pentwater Village Marina will honor fallen sailors followed by a parade to Pentwater Village Green.
