Mason County Central capped off its final meet of the 2013 forensics year at state finals in Oakland University in Rochester Saturday. The team didn’t disappoint their school! They placed third in class B out of 23 teams competing.
The team scored a record 327 team points. This is the highest state final finish in school history. We were just 28 points from state runner up and it was neck and neck with Detroit Country Day. MCC has finished as the highest public school in class B once again this year.
We placed 24 events to state, as the entire team qualified from Regionals. It has been a wonderful year finishing with six, first place team trophies, two second places, a third and a fourth team finish. The team also had approximately 160 individual trophies in 2013.
I am very proud of these talented and productive students and looks forward to next years results. MCC has another state champion with Bethany Anderson finishing first in Prose Interpretation. These are the individual results:
