Scottville expected to rehire lawyer

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville City Commission will decide tonight if it will continue the services of Thompson, Thompson & Glanville as its attorneys. City Manager Amy Williams is recommending the city extend its agreement with the Ludington firm.
Tracey Thompson, from Thompson, Thompson & Glanville, serves as the regular attorney for the city. The firm is paid a $3,000 per year retainer, which includes attendance at commission meetings and routine legal advice. It is also paid $175 per hour for legal research, drafting documents, court appearances, special meetings and other legal work.
Attorney Ryan Glanville’s services to the city are $160 per hour.
In 2012, the city paid the firm $11,432.50 in services, which included the $3,000 retainer.
City commission meets at 5:30 p.m. at city hall, 105 N. Main St.
