VICTORY TWP. – The work of Grand Rapids artist, Brenda Sipe, will open 2013 at the Manierre Dawson Gallery with an exhibit of sculpture and drawing.

Sipe works with both traditional and explorative materials and is heavily influenced by nature. Recent sculptures display her background in fiber art and are “woven” from nature.

Sipe received her master of fine arts degree from Michigan State University and is currently director of continuing studies at Kendal College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.

She has exhibited widely in Michigan, most recently at Art Prize in Grand Rapids, as well as throughout the Midwest.

The exhibit will be on display from Jan. 14 to March 3 in the Manierre Dawson Gallery in the Arts and Science Center at West Shore Community College.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays.

The Gallery is also open in the evenings during performances and events at the Center Stage Theater.
