Dedication-donations are now being accepted for preschool “Discovery Kits” at the Children’s circulation desk at the Ludington Library, 217 East Ludington Ave., Ludington, MI 49431,(231) 843-8465.

Mason County District Library, the Mason-Lake-Oceana Great Start Collaborative and the Great Start to Quality Western Resource Center have partnered to create these preschool “Discovery Kits” for parents and childcare providers.  Each kit will be labeled with a personal dedication from an individual donor.

Discovery Backpacks – $25 per kit

These kits are for parents and childcare providers to help engage young children in meaningful ways through educational and developmental themes like color, opposites, feelings, and more.  Books, activity and curriculum sheets included. 65 kits are available for dedication.

Discovery Bins – $50 per kit

Storage bins full of quality engagement will get children interacting with different materials based around different themes and experiences such as a beach bin to experience sand play while building small motor skills, recognition, language and so much more.  Activity and curriculum sheets included. Ten bins are available for dedication.

“What a powerful way to remember a loved one with such wonderful benefits to the community.” says Lisa Cooper of the Great Start to Quality Western Resource Center. “I’m looking forward to seeing how early learning and care providers utilize these materials in their programs.”
