Ice Arena Assistant Manager
Position Summary
The Ice Arena Assistant Manager shall be directly responsible to the Director of Recreational Services for assisting in the Ice Arena including but not limited to, supervision of facility and staff, scheduling and preparation for all arena events, instruction of ice skating classes, decisions regarding youth and adult programs, custodial duties, and performing general repairs of equipment and building.
Position Qualifications
Required
- Knowledge and ability to install and maintain sheet of ice
- General knowledge of tools, equipment, and supplies that is associated with an ice arena.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and social media programs.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (weekdays, weeknights and weekends).
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities, adapt to changing duties, and make decisions and take necessary action in absence of the Director.
- General knowledge of repairing and maintaining ice arena equipment and building.
- Ability to interact positively and work effectively with different age groups and personalities.
- Ability to skate and demonstrate basic hockey skills in order to teach a skating class.
- Knowledge of USA Hockey and M.A.H.A. rules and regulations.
- Knowledge in the use and care of mechanical cleaning equipment including but not limited to vacuums and floor scrubbers.
- Ability to bend, stoop and lift (occasionally over 100 lbs.)
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Desired
- Prior experience in the Ice Arena Industry, which includes supervision and hiring, training and development of staff.
