Position:  Spitler Elementary Principal

Qualifications Include: 

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education or Administration
  • Possession of/or eligibility to meet and obtain the requirements for State of Michigan Administrative Certification as an Administrator
  • Successful teaching experience
  • Proven track record of working with diverse and at-risk students
  • Proven understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports
  • Proven understanding of growth data and achievement data

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with a diverse and at-risk student population
  • Collaborate and engage staff in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
  • Analyze student achievement data and use educational research as the foundational principle in the decision making process
  • Collaborate and engage staff in the School Improvement Process
  • Foster the growth of all staff members
  • Evaluate performance and effectiveness of instructional practices and all staff
  • Organize and facilitate building level inservice and professional development
  • Continue to cultivate and grow the  positive school climate with staff and students

Technology Skills:

  • Outstanding skills with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc
  • Skilled at creating a social media presence

Personal Skills:

  • Ability to listen and accept input
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to staff
  • Visible, Approachable, Accessible

Location:  Spitler Elementary

Contracted Days:  215

Estimated Starting Date:  August 1, 2019

Reports to:  Superintendent of Schools

Salary Range:  $82,000 – $88,000
