Behavior Technician
HGA Support Services – Ludington
  • Support youth with Autism/ASD in a manner consistent with contractual requirements and HGA’s Mission and Values
  • Preparation and planning for daily activities within the center, community, and family homes
  • Use Gentle Teaching principles to build and maintain positive relationships with persons
  • Understand the needs of persons served, including the specific needs of individuals with Autism/ASD
  • Assure that all Recipient Rights are honored, including confidentiality of verbal and written information
  • Maintain records, including case notes, and progress notes
  • Complete necessary and required training per Contract Agency and/or Autism Waiver requirements
  • May be required to provide transportation to individuals
  • Demonstrate professionalism when representing HGA or persons served
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 18 years of age, Degree in psychology, special education, or another related field (the equivalent of education and experience may be considered), Completion of Mandatory Training upon hire, Be able to communicate expressively and receptively, Valid Michigan Driver’s License & Proof of clean driving record. Must be able to pass criminal background check & pre-employment physical including drug test.

Experience working with children preferred, but not necessary.

Infrequently, the employee may be required to lift up to 100 pounds with other staff. Employees in this position are required to run after program participants, up to 500 feet, repeatedly and frequently.
