LUDINGTON — The following criminal proceedings took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felony Arraignments

Gean

-Justin Lee Gean, 32, of 207 S. Crowley St., Scottville, was arrested Oct. 18 by the Ludington Police Department on a felony charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct (victim under age 13). Probable cause hearing: Oct. 27 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash.

Collins

-Chad Federick Collins, 30, of 4743 E. Free Soil Rd., Free Soil Township, was arrested Oct. 19 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on a felony charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and misdemeanor charges of unlawful license plates and failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance). Probable cause hearing: Nov. 3 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $1,000 cash.

Misdemeanor Arraignments

-Clinton John Taylor, 32, of 208 E. State St., Apt. 2, Scottville; Oct. 8; Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO); domestic violence and assault & battery. Pretrial: TBD. Bail: $250 cash.

-Zachary Allen Reiss, 20, of 128 W. State St., Scottville; Oct. 13; Michigan State Police (MSP); breaking and entering. Pretrial: Oct. 25 at 3:15 p.m. Bail: $500 personal recognizance.

-Kyle Daniel Paulus, 18, of 73 S. Main St., Custer; Oct. 13; MSP; breaking and entering. Pretrial: Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $500 personal recognizance. 

-Evan Tyler Dewhirst Olmstead, 33, of 1345 S. Poplar Rd., Custer Township; Oct. 16; MCSO; operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: TBD. Bail: $250 cash.

Sentencings

-Andrew Soojin Triggol, 26, of 1608 Woodlawn, Indianapolis, Indiana, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to breaking and entering, malicious destruction of personal property, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for seven days served; 1 year discretionary jail for two years; 48 hours of community service within six months; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana/controlled substances; must attend victim’s impact panel; must complete alcohol highway safety eduction; $1,550 in restitution; and $1,490 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of disorderly drunk person was dismissed.

-Christopher Waine Martz, 38, of 183 Eighth St., Apt. 1, Manistee, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; must continue current counseling program; and $595 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). 

-Nathan James Patterson, 21, of 6311 Serenity Ct., Ludington, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWIL) and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Stephanie Michelle Moses, 25, of 411 E. Dowland St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .17 or above and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 180 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; and $1,195 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Thomas Archie Paul, 38, of 4460 W. Hansen Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to failure to provide information to a police office and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for six months; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of disorderly drunk person was dismissed.

-Christian Lee Mitchell, 31, of 609 Fifth St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to domestic violence and was sentenced to 17 days in jail with credit for 17 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance use evaluation; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; and $595 in fines/costs. A charge of disorderly drunk person was dismissed.

-Seth Daniel Thompson, 19, of 4414 E. Barothy Rd., Custer Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to OWIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; must attend victim’s impact panel; must complete outpatient counseling program; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Eric James Asiala, 54, of 206 N. Reinberg Ave., Scottville, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; must obtain Soberlink for one year; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; must attend ERG program through Pine Rest; must attend AA two times per week for one year; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. 

-James Allen Rose, 41, of 920 N. Harrison St., Ludington, pleaded no contest Oct. 20 to stalking and was sentenced to 22 days in jail with credit for 22 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must have a substance abuse evaluation; no contact with the victim except through Family Wizard app for the benefit of the children; and $595 in fines/costs. A charge of aggravated stalking was dismissed.

-Ashley Nicole Reim, 37, of 903 W. Ludington Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty Oct. 20 to second-offense domestic violence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must have a mental health evaluation; and $595 in fines/costs. A charge of fourth offense habitual offender was dismissed.

-Anthony Lee Tenney, 21, of 211 S. Dryden St., Hart, pleaded guilty Oct. 19 to operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random breath tests; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .17 or above was dismissed.

Dismissals

-Kathleen Mary Moran, 62, of 2940 N. Lena Dr., Hamlin Township, had a charge of fourth-degree child abuse dismissed without prejudice on Oct. 13 due to the witnesses being unavailable at the time of the trial.

-Michael Anthony Garcia, 51, of 808 S. Madison St., Apt. 2, Ludington, had charges of domestic violence and assault and battery dismissed on Oct. 18 after being found not guilty during a jury trial. 

-Joseph Allen Schwiderson, 31, of 403 S. Emily St., Ludington, had a charge of malicious use of a telecommunications device dismissed on Oct. 19 as part of a plea agreement.
