‘Wellbeing check’ in parking lot yields suspected meth.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A warrant is being requested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for a 42-year-old Ludington woman following a “wellbeing check” on a female in the Meijer parking lot on West US 10 Saturday, May 8, shortly after 8 p.m. Suspected meth was located in the vehicle, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Friday, May 7, 2021:

  • 3:01 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, City of Scottville.
  • 2:33 p.m., (MCSO), a 19-year-old Manistee man was cited for driving without a license/never applied following a traffic stop, Michigan Street near Democrat Street, Village of Free Soil.
  • 5:38 p.m., (MCSO), unlawful driving away of an automobile (UDAA), 300 block of East State Street, City of Scottville. The complainant reported a 2011 Chevy Aveo was stolen. No registration plate is on the vehicle. 
  • 6:48 p.m., (MCSO), illegal dumping/damaged property, 300 block of South Meyers Road, Amber Township. The complainant reported an unknown person dumped old furniture on their property and damaged a garage. 
  • 7:42 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Schoenherr Road south of Millerton Road, Sheridan Township.

Saturday, May 8, 2021:

  • 4:16 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:32 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 1:46 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $30.20 in fuel stolen, Ludington EZ Mart, 5900 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:22 p.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Muskegon woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, US 31 near Freeman Road, Grant Township.
  • 5:12 p.m., (MCSO), larceny from a building, 200 block of South Main Street, City of Scottville. The complainant reported a larceny of goods from the Dollar General store.
  • 10:04 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Pere Marquette Highway off-ramp, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:30 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 south of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
  • 11:39 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.

Sunday, May 9, 2021:

  • 8:08 a.m., (MCSO), warrants are being requested for illegal entry, trespassing and probation violation, 6500 block of East Sugar Grove Road, Sheridan Township. The warrants are being sought for a 21-year-old Fountain man following a 911 call reporting a male subject sitting in the caller’s vehicle.  The male was unknown to the caller. 
  • 1:10 p.m., (Michigan State Police), turfing of a wheat field causing $300 in damages, 2100 block of West Johnson Road, Amber Township. The case is under investigation.
  • 4:52 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Village of Fountain.
  • 5:51 p.m., larceny of firewood, 200 block of North Tallman Lake Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 7:56 p.m., (MCSO), domestic assault by strangulation arrest, 2800 block of East Meisenheimer Road, Eden Township. A 49-year-old Custer man was arrested following a 911 call of an active fight between two males.
