Man allegedly assaults 2 women, sending 1 to the hospital.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 59-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies following a 911 call reporting an active assault Monday, April 5, shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Sherman Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The victims — a 49-year-old Ludington woman and a 60-year-old Pentwater woman — were both injured as a result. The Pentwater woman was treated at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, said Sheriff Cole.

In a separate domestic violence incident, a 46-year-old Custer man was arrested on charges of domestic violence, interfering with telecommunications, and resisting and opposing arrest following a 911 call reporting an assault Monday shortly after 5:03 p.m. in the 400 block of North Tuttle Road, Cole said. “The suspect allegedly pulled away and resisted deputies who were attempting to secure him,” he said.
