VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 54-year-old Scottville man led a Mason County sheriff’s deputy on a chase for approximately one mile Saturday, Oct. 17, around 11 p.m. before he pulled into a driveway near the intersection of Stiles and Groth roads where he was arrested for operating while intoxicated and fleeing and eluding police, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The deputy attempted to pull him over for speeding and failure to dim headlights, Cole said, but the man refused to stop. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Friday, Oct. 16, 2020:

  • 6:24 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Free Soil Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 8:49 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Iris Road west of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:48 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, eastbound US 31 off-ramp to US 10, Amber Township.
  • 9:26 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:02 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Branch Township.

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020:

  • 5:38 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 south of North Scottville Road, Amber Township.
  • ​​11:21 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 23-year-old Stanton, Michigan man was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of St. John’s, Michigan and Ionia, Michigan, Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington. He was also charged with third-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS).
  • 2:07 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, minor injury, Jebavy Drive north of Rasmussen, Pere Marquette Township. A 24-year-old Ludington man received minor injuries after the vehicle he was operating rear-ended a slowing vehicle ahead of him. He did not seek medical treatment.
  • 6:55 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Fountain Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 9:11 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Grant Township.

Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020:

  • 12:30 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 17-year-old man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, probation violation and domestic violence, White Pine Drive and Riverside Drive, Meade Township.
  • Noon, (LPD), ​a 24-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding State, Sheriffs, Chiefs Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) warrant, 700 block of East First Street​, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:22 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Stephens Road, Custer Township.
  • 7:34 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Dennis Road north of US 10, Amber Township.
