79th District Court news, posted Oct. 17, 2020.

LUDINGTON — The following activity recently took place in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Misdemeanor arraignments: 

-Angelo Devin Mendez, 22, of 6509 W. Decker Rd., Hamlin Township; Oct. 13; Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO); operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Matthew Robert Losch, 31, of 5065 Schwass Rd., Riverton Township; Jan. 8, 2019; MSP; embezzlement by an agent or trustee. Pretrial: Oct. 26 at 9:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500 personal recognizance. 

Sentencings:

-Troy Albert Williamson, 51, no address listed, pleaded no contest Oct. 14 to attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced to 31 days in jail with credit for 31 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $125 in fines/costs. Charges of disorderly drunk person, assault/resisting/obstructing police, and fourth offense habitual offender were dismissed.  

-Jenna Dianne Myers, 26, of 1245 N. LaSalle Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must obtain a mental health evaluation; and $604.33 in fines/costs/restitution. 

-Randolph Dean Cunic, 65, of 6714 Blank Rd., Whitehall, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to disturbing the peace and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol; subject to random PBTs; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of possession of a firearm while intoxicated was dismissed.

-Joshua Everett Smith, 39, of 1038 Lancer Ln., Ludington, pleaded guilt Oct. 12 to accident to fixtures and was sentenced to pay for mailbox damage and $325 in fines/costs.

-Tyler Leon Michael White, 21, of 5425 Linden St., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 12 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle code and was sentenced to pay $335 in fines/costs and must take a traffic safety class.

Dismissals

-Harley Michael Fisher, 24, of 1776 N. Tallman Lake Dr., Fountain, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed on Oct. 13 as part of a plea agreement.

-Ronald Bruce Stever, 27, of 3677 W. Victory Dr., Victory Township, had a charge of failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed on Oct. 13 as part of a plea agreement.
