Thief/thieves swap valid license plate for stolen one in store parking lot.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A woman reported to police that she found a license plate affixed to her vehicle that was parked in the Meijer store parking lot on US 10 that was not hers, and her original plate was missing, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The theft was reported Saturday, Oct. 3, at 3:20 p.m.

“Deputies learned this plate was stolen out of the Detroit area,” Cole said. The plate stolen off the complainant’s vehicle is AKS775/MI.
