Hansen Road construction to begin Monday.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Road construction on Hansen Road between US 31 and LaSalle Road will begin Monday, Sept. 21. The road will be closed to through traffic but will be open to residents, school buses, and emergency vehicles. Delays may be possible for that traffic. 

Construction will include paving and restoration, stump and brush removal, culverts replacement, road widening, ditching, slopes flattening, among other items. 

The $540,000 project, which is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, is funded by the Federal Highway Administration, Michigan Department of Transportation and Mason County Road Commission. 

Traffic will be detoured by the contractor, J&N Construction, Inc. of Gaylord. The official detour will reroute traffic on US 31, US 10 and Stiles Road.
