Fatal motorcycle crash victim identified. 

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Jaramie Jones, 43, of Scottville died Saturday, July 18, 2020, following a motorcycle/Jeep crash at the intersection of Dennis and Johnson roads. The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. Jones, who was the motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Michigan State Police Sgt. Dan Thomas. Jones was wearing a helmet.

The 2009 Jeep Wrangler was driven by a 68-year-old Ludington man. A 68-year-old Ludington woman was a passenger in the Jeep. Neither were injured, Thomas said.

Jones’ motorcycle was northbound on Dennis Road and struck the Jeep that was traveling west. The Jeep stopped at the signed intersection prior to the collision, the sergeant said.

The crash remains under investigation pending traffic reconstruction and blood test results, Thomas said.

Emergency units responding to the scene included MSP, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS.
