SCOTTVILLE — A 45-year-old Scottville man and his 18-year-old son were cited by Michigan State Police troopers from the Hart post Sunday evening, June 28, for turtle poaching at Riverside Park on Scottville Road, said Trooper Todd Goodrich.

Troopers were called to the scene at 7:10 p.m. after receiving a report of someone poaching snapping turtles, Goodrich said.

The pair were cited on three violations — taking/possessing a reptile out of season, taking/possessing undersized snapping turtles and taking/possession reptiles over the limit.
