Ludington man charged with resisting officers, drunk driving following crash.

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 28-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, May 22, 2020 and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated first offense along with three county of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Reenya Bilal-Clinton Burrell, 28, of 410 S. Washington Ave., Apt. 1, faces up to two years imprisonment for the felony charges of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer.

According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, Burrell was involved in a single vehicle crash at 4:49 a.m. Friday at Stiles and Townline roads. “Deputies allege Burrell was northbound on Stiles Road when he failed to stop at the ‘T’ intersection, left the north side of the intersection, striking a sign,” Cole said. “It is alleged Burrell struggled by resisting during the handcuffing, refused to get in the patrol car at the scene and then refusing to get out of the patrol car at the Mason County Jail.”

Bail was set at $7,500, 10% deposit. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 3, 2020.
