Safe Harbor Credit Union to break ground on new location.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Safe Harbor Credit Union will break ground this summer on its new location at 5511 W. US 10, between Jebavy Drive and Pere Marquette Highway. The new location will replace the growing credit union’s present site at 1200 E. Tinkham Ave. in the City of Ludington.

“With membership numbers increasing, along with additional operational needs, Safe Harbor has simply outgrown their current location,” said President and CEO Adam Johnson, who cited the continuing upward trend in areas such as membership, assets, lending growth and staff as driving factors. “With our unprecedented growth the past few years, we’ve been lucky enough to increase the number of team members here on staff.  We’re quickly running out of room in our current location, so this new building will not only allow us to better serve our members, it will also provide a better work environment for our dedicated staff.”

“From its original location in a small office on the grounds of Dow Chemical’s Ludington plant, onto the 1500 S Madison Street location, to its current home at 1200 E Tinkham, Safe Harbor Credit Union’s locations and facilities have always changed with one sole focus: member needs,” Johnson said.

“The new location at 5511 W US-10 was chosen specifically for convenience for the entire membership base. The new facility will allow Safe Harbor to continue growing and training staff to better serve its members. In addition, we will be able to integrate enhanced technologies while still providing the personal member service that is the foundation of everything Safe Harbor Credit Union does.

“As a thriving and growing credit union, we can’t wait to offer our members a bigger, more convenient location that can handle all of their financial needs,” Johnson said. “This new building and location will keep Safe Harbor at the forefront of ever-changing technologies without sacrificing the top-notch service and convenience our members have come to expect from us”.

Safe Harbor Credit Union will be accepting bids and wishes to use as many locally-based businesses as possible, Johnson said. Interested parties can contact Adam Johnson at 231-252-1160 or by email at ajohnson@safeharborcu.org. The current Safe Harbor Credit Union location will be placed on the market.
