Fountain man injured following motorcycle/deer crash.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 56-year-old Fountain man was seriously injured following a motorcycle/deer crash on  US 31 Sunday, May 3. Emergency units were called to US 31, about half mile north of the Pere Marquette Highway on-ramp at 6:11 p.m. The man was traveling northbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when his bike struck the deer. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to Mercy Health Hackley Campus in Muskegon.

The crash, which remains under investigation, closed northbound US 31 between Pere Marquette Highway and US 10.

Responding emergency units included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS.
