Northwest Michigan Health Services to hold open house at CMH.

LUDINGTON — Northwest Michigan Health Services will hold a public open house on Friday, February 28 from noon to 3 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. at its new clinic located inside the West Michigan CMH building at 920 Diana St. in Ludington.

As a federally qualified health center, Northwest Michigan Health Services provides a full array of physical health care services to patients regardless of their insurance.

“The response to the new clinic has already been encouraging,” notes Northwest CEO Heidi Britton.  “This clinic provides access to primary care services close to home for everyone in the community. Being located within the West Michigan Community Mental Health building allows us to provide integrated services for their patients, and the location near the hospital, health department and other human service agencies is especially convenient for those who need us most.”

The clinic started seeing patients on February 3, 2020. Britton said new patient appointments are generally scheduled within three days and walk-ins are also accepted.

The clinic is staffed with nurse practitioner Stephanie Smart, who has 35 years of experience in the field of nursing: “My job allows me to teach people and give them the tools to make differences in their own health.  In this position I can provide care to the whole person, focusing on mind, body and spirit. The human body is an amazing thing and the more my patients know about how their body works the more invested they can be in making healthy, positive choices and changes.” 

At the open house on February 28, the public will be able to tour the new medical clinic, meet nurse practitioner Stephanie Smart and learn more about services. 

Hours of operation for Northwest Michigan Health Services are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call (231) 316-1100.
