Several promoted at Smith & Eddy Insurance.

SCOTTVILLE — Smith & Eddy Insurance has announced that it recently has made several staff promotions and re-alignments.

“Smith & Eddy has seen incredible growth the last few years and we are always looking at improving how we serve our customers,” said President Scott Smith. “We have had new hires and some retirements lately and I believe these changes offer us the best opportunities to continue to provide high quality service.

Joe Knowles

Joe Knowles has been promoted to agriculture director/senior vice president. “Joe has done an incredible job managing our central Michigan Crop Agency book,” Smith said. “Plus, this is his passion. The addition of a crop service representative will also allow Joe more time in the field with our ag and commercial customers.”

 

 

 

Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson has been names director of operations. “Matt’s knowledge of the system, administrative work and accounting background make him the perfect fit for this,” Smith said. “Matt has developed in 15 years into one of our key people in the agency.”

 

 

 

Ken Terryn

Ken Terryn is now commercial lines director. “Ken has more knowledge of our commercial accounts in Mason, Manistee, Oceana counties than anyone else in the agency,” Smith said. “He’s the only employee to have worked in an office in those three counties as well. Ken has almost 40 years in the business and a incredible amount of knowledge.

 

 

 

Alisha Christensen

Alisha Christensen is now director of personal lines. “Alisha will be in charge basically of all staff who are not considered commercial,” Smith said. “She will manage all of personal lines, all account managers, processors, and more. Her role will include maximizing work efficiency, development of skill sets, improving overall work flows and maintaining solid growth.

Smith & Eddy Insurance has offices in Scottville, Manistee, and Ludington.
