LPD asks for help to locate suspect.

LUDINGTON — The Ludington Police Department is requesting assistance in locating a suspect wanted on several outstanding warrants. Guadalupe “Lupe” Rangel, Jr., 45, of Victory Township, is wanted on four counts including two counts of assaulting/obstructing/obstructing a police officer, one count of having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, and one count of fourth offense habitual offender.

Assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer is a felony punishable by up to two years in prison.

 “The Ludington Police Department has made contact with Guadalupe Rangel twice this week in order to make arrangements for him to turn himself in for arrest on these charges,” Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett said in a statement. “To date neither Mr. Rangel, nor any representative, has responded to L.P.D. to schedule the arrest and court appearance.”

Anyone with knowledge of Rangel’s whereabouts is asked to contact Mason-Oceana 911 by dialing 911 or the non-emergency number at 231-869-5858.
