Scam ‘cleans out’ victims’ money.

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — The Hart post of the Michigan State Police is investigating a fraud complaint received Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Pere Marquette Highway.

The fraud involves the selling of cleaning products, in which the money is paid by the victim but the cleaning products are never received, said Trooper Kelsey Case.

The following is other recent police activity in Mason County:

Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020:

– 5:16 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 31-year-old Pentwater man was cited for operating without a license following a traffic stop, Chauvez Road and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

– 7:16 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Lister Road, Riverton Township.

– 6:38 p.m,. (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Darr Road, Sherman Township.

– 6:52 p.m,. (Michigan State Police), car/deer crash, Scottville Road near Conrad Road, City of Scottville.

– 7:33 p.m., (MCSO), a 32 year-old Ludington man was arrested for third-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, Ludington and Washington avenues, City of Ludington.

– 8:18 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.

Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020:

– 9:40 a.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, Jebavy Drive near Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.

– 7:30 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline Road north of Beyer Road, Victory Township.

– 8:41 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 19-year-old Custer woman was cited for improper plate, South Pere Marquette Highway, City of Ludington.
