Summit Prayer Gathering set for Jan. 22.

LUDINGTON — Several area churches will gather on Wednesday, Jan. 22 for a Summit Prayer Gathering at Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison St. The gathering is the finale of the 21 days of fasting observed by several area Christians.

Pastor Jerry Theis of Radiant Church said the event is being held at the arts center to help encourage worshippers to express their faith through the arts.

“There will be two hours of eight prayer sessions, held in 15 minute increments,” Theis said. “These sessions will include someone leading prayers along with a worship band. Worshippers are welcome to come and go as they please from that area. In other parts of the building, there will be tables set up where people can draw, paint, or write. This event will have an environment of artistry and creativity.”

Theis said the event will begin with communion.

“Churches often have different forms of worship, but what unites us as Christians is the blood of Jesus and that is expressed through communion,” Theis said. “It should be a powerful, unifying event where we pray for our families, community and church.”

Theis said chid care will not be provided at the event but families are encouraged to attend.
