LHS to host Veterans Day ceremony.

LUDINGTON — Ludington High School will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11 and is inviting all local veterans to attend. Events will begin at 7:30 a.m. with coffee in the high school library, followed by an 8 a.m. program at L.F. Peterson Auditorium.

The ceremony will include the presentation of colors by the American Legion, taps by LHS senior and trumpet player John Biggs, and keynote address by Maj. Tad Reed, US Army National Guard. Reed is a 1994 graduate of Ludington High School and has served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army National Guard for 16 years.

A complimentary breakfast for veterans and their families will follow at 8:30 a.m. in the high school cafeteria.

“This is just a small way for us to honor those who have served our country,” said LHS Principal Dan Mesyer. “It’s important that the students in our community understand what it means to serve and also the sacrifice our veterans have made to protect our freedoms.”

Those attending should enter through the auditorium doors located on the east side of the complex.
