County planners recommend repair, light assembly wording.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Planning Commission agreed unanimously Tuesday, Nov. 6, to recommend the county Board of Commissioners add a text amendment to the county’s zoning ordinance which will address repair and light assembly facilities in commercial and industrial zones.

The board’s recommendation is to add wording to the ordinance which will make repair and light assembly in a special land use in commercial zones 1, 2, and 3 and a permitted use in industrial zones.

Planning Director Brady Selner said the current zoning ordinance wording does not address light assembly and repair facilities in commercial zones.
