Citizen on moped stops homeless man from breaking into disc golf cash box.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP – A citizen on a moped stopped a 53-year-old homeless man from breaking into a cash box at the Leviathan disc golf course on North Jebavy Drive Friday afternoon, Oct. 25, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“The suspect left the area after realizing someone had called 911,” Cole said. “He was arrested a short time later after the caller followed him on his moped until Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies could catch up with him.”

The disc golf course is located on the Ludington Area School District’s forest property.
