Firefighters save newly built house.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Firefighters were able to contain a fire on the site of a house under construction at 2903 S. Lakeshore Drive Friday, Oct. 11. Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Riverton Township Fire Department were dispatched about 5:15 p.m. and were able to extinguish it before it caused excessive damage. Ludington Fire Department was also dispatched to assist with water supply while Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on scene to assist with traffic.

According to building permits on site, the home is owned by Ken and Ruth Foster of LaFayette, Ind. It is being built by Gibson Custom Homes of Ludington.
