79th District Court sentencings, posted Oct. 10, 2019.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Robert James Lessard, 43, homeless, pleaded guilty Oct. 8 to stalking and was sentenced to 17 days in jail with credit for 17 days served; 180 days discretionary jail for two years; no contact with the victim; must have a mental health evaluation; and $125 in fines/costs.

-Renee Marie Zimmer, 48, of 597 S. Tyndall Rd., Branch Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 8 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Carlos Rodriguez, Sr., 61, of 9609 E. Peet Rd., Cheasning, pleaded guilty Oct. 8 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for two days served and $595 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Morgan Ashley Kay Lifer, 30, of 6213 E. Hansen Rd., Branch Township, pleaded no contest Oct. 8 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and $1,010.62 in fines/costs/restitution. A charge of second degree retail fraud was dismissed.

-Darrel Grant Cole, 65, of 6263 E. VanBuren Rd., Walkerville, pleaded no contest Oct. 8 to resisting and obstructing police and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and must continue current mental health treatment plan. A charge of attempted assault/resisting/obstructing a police officer was dismissed.

-Dana Louise Belzner, 78, of 5996 E. Ford Lake Dr., Sheridan Township, pleaded no contest Oct. 8 to OUIL and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Shaina Leigh Sanders, 29, of 5332 N. Victory Park Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Oct. 8 to attempted third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 45 days discretionary jail for one year and $650.75 in fines/costs/restitution. 

-Justin Ray Harper, 36, of 13065 Center Rd., Bath, pleaded guilty Oct. 8 to OUIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; must attend AA two times per week for two years; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $1,125 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Jessica Jean Hernandez, 42, of 120 W. State St., Scottville, pleaded guilty Oct. 7 to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have anger management evaluation; 24 hours of community service and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

 

Dismissals

-Shane Thomas Wardlow, 37, of 717 N. Washington Ave., Ludington, had a charge of stalking dismissed without prejudice on Oct. 4 per a deferral agreement.
