Second teacher assault reported at MCE.

CUSTER — A 14-year-old male student at Mason County Eastern Schools has been turned over to Mason County Juvenile Court authorities following an alleged assault of a teacher that occurred Thursday, Sept. 19. The student allegedly punched a teacher in the arm. The student then reportedly fought with a Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was attempting to refrain him, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The sheriff’s office is recommending the student be charged with assault and resisting and obstructing a police officer. 

The incident is separate from the one that occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the school, which involved a male student allegedly punching a female teacher, causing two of her teeth to become loose. 

Other activity of law enforcement on Thursday, Sept. 19, included: 

  • 7 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Sixth Street and Marquette railroad tracks, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 3:32 p.m. (MCSO), three vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 west of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 9:10 p.m. (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
