SUMMIT TOWNSHIP – A 47-year-old Mears man who was arrested on an outstanding Mason County probation violation warrant by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Sunday, Sept. 15, shortly before midnight now faces additional charges of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and malicious destruction of police property after allegedly fighting with police and damaging the Plexiglas divider of the patrol car, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“During the transfer from Oceana to Mason County patrol cars, the suspect resisted deputies by fighting with them while they were attempting to place in him the Mason County patrol car for transport to the Mason County Jail,” said Cole. “The suspect attempted to kick out the window of the patrol car and damaged the Plexiglas divider due to repeated kicks.”

Friday, Sept. 13, 2019:

• 7:12 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 30-year-old Free Soil woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a car/deer crash that caused no injuries, Brye Road south of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
• 11:39 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway and Sixth Street, Pere Marquette Township.
• 12:03 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 29-year-old man (no address listed) was arrested on three outstanding warrants – one from the Michigan Department of Corrections and and two from Mason County’s 79th District Court, 400 block of James street, City of Ludington. A 29-year-old Ludington woman was also arrested for an outstanding warrant from Lake County.
• 3:50 p.m., (LPD), a 28-year-old Ludington man arrested on three outstanding warrants, 800 block of North Washington Avenue, City of Ludington.
• 7:18 p.m., (LPD), a 12-year-old Ludington girl was apprehended for assault, 600 block of Sixth Street, City of Ludington.
• 7:54 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content following a traffic stop, Walhalla Road and First Street, Branch Township.
• 9:35 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Schoenherr Road, Sherman Township.
• 11 p.m., (MCSO), a 26-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 3700 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019:

• 12:54 a.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Ludington man was arrested for parole violation, 200 block of South Washington Avenue, City of Ludington.
• 10:37 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Conrad and Pittard roads, Amber Township.
• 1:50 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
• 1:28 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 51-year-old Scottville man was arrested on a fugitive warrant, US 10 and Custer Road, Village of Custer.
• 1:59 p.m., (MCSO), a 33-year-old Fountain man was cited for DWLS following a traffic stop​, US 10 and US 31, Amber Township..
• 2 p.m., (MCSO), damaged property, 8500 block of East Kinney Road, Logan Township. The victim reported that someone drove across his property with heavy equipment, damaging the ground.
• 5:12 p.m., (LPD), a 20-year-old homeless man was cited for no insurance and DWLS, 400 block of South Washington Avenue, City of Ludington.
• 8:49 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Meisenheimer Road west of Stiles Road, Riverton Township.

Sunday, Sept, 15, 2019:

• 1:51 a.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Manistee man was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI), assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and DWLS, East Ludington Avenue and North Staffon Street, City of Ludington.
• 2:34 a.m., (MCSO), a 47-year-old Scottville woman was arrested on two criminal bench warrants out of Mason County, 400 block of Gay Street, City of Scottville.
• 5:58 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Brookridge Road south of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
• 2 p.m., (MCSO), illegal dumping, 1800 block of East Freeman Road, Free Soil Township. The case remains under investigation.
• 09/15 @ 5:13 p.m., (MCSO), a 37 year-old Fountain woman was cited for DWLS following a traffic stop, US 10 and Gordon Road, Amber Township.
• 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer and Johnson roads, Custer Township.
• 8:23 p.m., (MSP), a 57-year-old Ludington man was arrested for OWI, US 31 and Hansen Road, Amber Township.
