Saturday’s MAD Ride is HELP Ministry’s major fund raiser.

LUDINGTON — The annual HELP Ministry’s MAD Ride (Making A Difference) bicycle event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17. The ride includes five routes: 14 miles, 20 miles, 44 miles, 62 miles and 100 miles, all beginning at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 1212 Monona Dr. 

HELP Executive Director Larry Lange said the event is HELP’s (Hands Extended Loving People) main fundraiser for the year. The organization provides provides furniture, appliances and household goods to families and individuals in need of such. It also assists clients with rent, utilities and medical bills in collaboration with area social service agencies and churches, along with minor home repairs and transportation for medical purposes.

There is a $35 registration fee to enter the event which can be paid Saturday morning beginning at 6 a.m. Registration fee includes a t-shirt and lunch. Many riders also get sponsors and pledges as well.
