Stiles Road, between Johnson and Hansen closed.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Stiles Road between Johnson and Hansen roads (one mile) will be closed for two to three weeks beginning today, Monday, Aug. 12, 2019. A 12-inch municipal water main is being installed to West Shore Community College at Stiles and Sugar Grove roads.

The detour during the closure is Hansen, Dennis and Johnson roads. Residents who live in this section, and emergency responders, will have access to the closed section of Stiles Road.

The water main is being installed approximately 6 feet west of Stiles Road, according to the Mason County Road Commission.

“For the safety of the motoring public and the workers the roadway will be closed to through traffic,” said Eric Nelson, county highway engineer. Residents who live in that section of Stiles Road and emergency responders will have access to the closed section.

The detour route is Dennis Road north to Johnson Road, east to Stiles Road.

Once the water main has been installed in that portion of Stiles Road, the detour will be changed to allow for construction of the next section.
