Beach hazard issued, north breakwater closed.

LUDINGTON — The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazard statement in effect until Friday evening. As a result, the north breakwater has been closed by Ludington Police Department. Police Chief Mark Barnett stated the reason for the closure was high waves over the breakwater.

Rip currents are expected in Lake Michigan which can make swimming hazardous.
